2023 ABIA GUBER: CALLS FOR ROTATION ARE CALLS FOR RETROGRESSION ….Tom Otuka…APC Chieftain.

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, and prominent Ukwa leader of thought, Dr Tom Otuka has described various calls from some people for the rotation of political power, among the three senatorial zones of Abia state as  calls for the Continued slide in the fortunes of the state.

Otuka  noted that the rotation of political power based on the so called Charter of Equity since 1999,has only succeeded in fostering cluelessness, serial leadership failure, crass nepotism, corruption and unmitigated Maladministration.

The Ndoki born medical practitioner cum political leader stated that the Chatter of Equity, though originally conceived with good intentions, has over the years become a veritable instrument, through which the people Democratic party PDP has inflicted pains and suffering on Abians.

He said  that what the state needs now is a purposeful leadership , with the needed political will to rescue Abia from

 the precipice .

According to him,the right leadership cannot be found if the political horizon is circumscribed in the name of rotation, observing that rather, it will only lead the state to the same inglorious path charted by the PDP for the Continued exploitation of the people.

 He  further stated that what the overwhelming majority of his people Ndoki, as well as the majority people of Abia state want at this critical moment is a leadership that will see the whole state as his constituency, do Justice to all, and bring about purposeful leadership, and not the one that will be more interested in satisfying the personal aggrandizement of a few political godfathers.

To him, the APC under High  Chief Ikechi Emenike has shown that it has all that it takes to reposition Abia state.

” If you observe very well ,you will notice a particular pattern of governance in the state since 1999. First, it was Senator Orji Kalu between 1999 and 2003. Through out his tenure, he was more interested in empowering some people from his Bende axis. The same trend was the case during the regime of Senator Theodore  Ahamefule  Orji, as he only cared about some people from Umuahia especially his Ibeku people. Now the present Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is towing  the same path. As  I am talking to you ,my people Ndoki in Ukwa West and East are like slaves to the NGWA people. All the essential infrastructural facilities needed by a people are completely lacking in Ukwa . The governor is only concentrating in his area. When election comes, the acronym will be ” Ukwa Ngwa, but once the election is over , the word will change to OHA Ngwa or Ngwa But Otu. Now all these are as a result of the selection of leaders based on rotation and the so called Charter of Equity, Dr Otuka said.

He said further that the charter of Equity, and the rotation  to him “is not serving the interest of the majority of Abians and therefore should be jettisoned”.

The APC chieftain ,also noted that for the state and it’s long suffering people to benefit from the abandonment of the rotational principles, the people most equally distance themselves from the PDP , noting that the leadership of the party in the state is populated by greedy and corrupt people that have held the state down since 1999.

“There is no need deceiving ourselves. If you throw the race open,you have solved one problem. Another problem that you need to solve is to ensure that you don’t enter the same vehicle that has been the conveyor of the rot , otherwise, you will not leave Egypt.”Dr Otuka stated

He therefore appealed to well meaning Abians, to join hands with the Chief Emenike led APC to save the state from a total collapse, adding that his people Ndoki in their numbers have resolved to save themselves and their ancestral name from being erased from the geopolitical map of the state ,by joining forces with the APC to rescue Abia state.
