The Aba Landlords Protection And Development Association, ALPADA, has in pursuance to always promote and protect the welfare its members promised to establish a state of the art medical diagnostic center to cater for the health needs of its members, especially the elderly and vulnerable ones.The President-General of the Association ,Chief Sir Alphonsus Udeigbo disclosed this on Wednesday,November,2,2022, at the opening ceremony of this year’s ALPADA week/End Of the year Activities, held at Unubi Hall, Ngwa Road Aba, Abia state.Udeigbo said that the medical facility, which is expected to cost the umbrella body of property owners in Aba over 30 million naira, will be readily accessible to all members at affordable rates as well as assist them in checking and determining their health status with a view to nipping in the bud any health complications ,especially those associated with old age.He appealed to privileged members and other public spirited individuals to support the lofty project which he said will help in reducing health challenges of members, mostly those with terminal ailments.He noted that as part of ALPADA’s contribution towards deepening the country’s fledgling democracy, and assist in enthroning responsive, and responsible leadership at all levels in the country this year’s ALPADA week will provide political actors in Abia state and their political platforms, to present their manifestos to members to enable them, and the entire electorate in the state make informed decisions during the forthcoming general elections .To this end, he appealed to members who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards ,PVc, to do so ,as that is their only instrument of ensuring the enthronement of leaders who will work towards the achievement of their interests.” Our members have to understand that they have a civic responsibility to obtain their PVCs,and to vote during elections. Otherwise, they will not have any locus standi to complain when the government of the day does not meet their expectations. That is an integral part of our message at this year’s end-of-the-year, activities.” Chief Udeigbo stated.This year’s activities, which is the second, with the theme “maintaining good health is wealth” also include, free medical check-up, and treatment for members, presentation of manifestos by political parties, and their candidates, in Abia ,visit to charity and orphanage homes as, well as the induction of new members.
