Having realized the potentials of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Governorship Candidate in Abia governorship election tomorrow, members of other political parties are jostling to join the rescue mission of the APC Governorship candidate , High Chief Ikechi Emenike. Within the last one week, thousands of members from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Action Peoples Party, APP, African Democratic Congress, DC, National Rescue Movement, NRM, Labour Party, LP and the Youth political Party, YPP have joined the rescue train of High Chief Ikechi Emenike. Others who also joined the train include members of Accord Party, AP, Action Alliance, AA, Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Boot Party, BP, Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, New Nigeria Peoples Party, NPP and Social Democratic Party, SDP. Some of them who spoke to newsmen during the allegiance paying meeting said that they have realized that Emnike is the only candidate who is free from all the wroth committed in Abia as a state. They also agreed that he is the only one that has the capacity to do the right thing since other candidates have in one way or the other been involved in what can be described as the rape of Abia state. It was also an event that featured the Senior Citizens forum Abia North announcing their unflinching support for the Governorship hopeful, through a statement jointly signed by Chief Joe Onuoha (Abia North), Mr Peter Anyim (Abia Central) and Chief James Ikedi (Abia South) which was made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the state capital. These were retirees weighed down by sufferings and hardships, imposed on them by unpaid pensions and gratuities who announced that they have seen hope for survival in Emenike alone. The Director-General, Ikechi Emenike Campaign Council, High Chief Uche Ogboso expressed delight over the unfolding developments which he attributed to the growing popularity of the APC governorship flag bearer. He added that the party has the best candidate among others, stating that .the new defectors were attracted into Emenike’s magnetic field within the one-week extension period of the governorship poll .He therefore, urged the defectors, members of their families, and sympathizers to vote massively for Emenike as the only candidate who can be trusted to keep his promises”.“Emenike is the only candidate with verifiable policy of prompt payment of pensions, arrears of pensions, gratuities and monthly allowances to all senior citizens in the state,” they had said to justify their endorsement of his candidature. In a similar development, Abia Rejoice, which is the political structure of the former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Mr Uche Ogah, was led by Jerry Chimechefulam to pledge allegiance to Emenike.Also, over 80 members of NRM in Ohafia and Arochukwu Local governments as well as their PDP counterparts in Ohafia were led by the NRM House of Representatives candidate for the Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency, Rev Boris Olugu to declare for the APC. On the same day, APC received into its fold a major PDP stakeholder from Ohafia, Prince Kalu Eze Okarazu, who is a former special adviser to Abia State Governor.Okarazu led seven other PDP stakeholders to defect to APC, vowing “to do everything possible to support the APC governorship candidate win the forthcoming governorship poll.” END
