The Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths said that the clash between Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Emene, Enugu, recently is a ploy aimed at making Igbo land a battle front, after the ciivl war that ended in the 1970s.
This is contained in a jiont press statement signed and issued by Dr. Kingsley Dozie,
National Deputy President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths and Chief Osmond Nkeoma,
National Publicity Secretary.
The statement called on South-East Governors and other notable Igbo leaders to intervene in the attack by the DSS to save Igbo Sons who are unarmed.
The Youths said that they have investigated the crises to discover that most of the brothers who were killed on both sides of DSS and IPOB are Igbos, , and advised that the carnage must stop.
“We Condemned vehemently the spillage of innocent Igbo bloods in Igbo land under any guise, but definitely will not tolerate any form of intimidation from any quarters, We Urge Igbo Governors and every well-meaning Igbo man to intervene immediately as there might be reprisal attacks from both sides if there’s no quick intervention.
“We equally appeal to our brothers to resist any temptation to fight back, there are alot of traps from Enemies of Ndigbo to Cash in these Unfortunate demise of Igbo Youths from this Enugu fracas to instigate Chaos, Civil disobedience and Violence and heat up the polity in Igbo land.
They commiserated and mourn all those killed in the horrific attacks, and urged all Biafra agitators to call off any Reprisal attacks.
The Igbo youths also warn all security agents to stop any further actions capable of causing mayhem in any part of Igbo land, urging them to release those innocent youths being erroneously held unconditionally.
