One of the greatest joys of parents while here on earth, before they embark on the journey of no return is the joy of beholding the success of the infant they toiled day and night to raise while they are still alive. If there is anything that makes an ailing parent to recover from any ailment is the news that their child , who hitherto was not doing well has started to do well. It actually make parents to rest in peace, even before death come knocking at the door of their heart. The simple fact that their efforts did not go down in vain, makes them to live even longer and when they realize that it is time to say goodbye, they don’t struggle to stay back, some , you could see, that even in death , will be smiling, because they came, saw and conquered, and nothing else would have made them to look back from going to meet their maker with joy with joy when the time comes. This is exactly the case with late Sir Micah E. Onyebuchi, the father of Prof. Azubuike Onyebuchi, the Chief Medical Director, CMD, of Federal Medical Center, Umuahia, whose committal to mother earth is taking place today in his Country home Amuzukwu, Umuahia. Some people , as we know don’ts die, they rather step aside from the stage, for their younger ones to continue from where they stopped, but live forever in the hearts of their children, wards, and humanity in general. Sir Onyebuchi was one of those mortals, who gracefully left the stage at the graceful age of 90 years. The funeral service is holding today, Thursday, Oct 27 at Amuzukwu Girls Secondary School, Amuzukwu Ibeku, Umuahia can better be described as celebration of a good life.It will kick off from 11am after which his body will be laid to rest at his compound, and on Sunday, Oct 30 thanksgiving service will be held at All Saints Methodist Church, Amuzukwu Ibeku, Umuahia. He has been severally described as a seasoned educationist who brought his wealth of experience to bear as the then Executive Chairman of Abia State Universal Education Board (ASUBEB) .One of the prominent people that commiserated with the family is the Abia state Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Eng Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, who urged the bereaved family to uphold all that the deceased lived for as a way of preserving his legacies. While expressing his sadness at the death of Pa Onyebuchi, the Speaker also described him as a dedicated Christian and a man of repute who brought up his children in a godly manner, and ensured they had adequate education to become responsible citizens of this Country.
