Abians at home and abroad, including members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, have been charged to brace up for the challenge ahead, and strive hard to save the state from total collapse, as generations of Ndi Abia will not fail to remember them for contributing their efforts to freeing the state from cabals and setting it on the part of development.
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia, High Chief Ikechi Emenike gave this charge while speaking to newsmen in Umuahia on the heels of his appointment as the Abia State Coordinator of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
He said that the journey to the 2023 polls is not for the fainthearted and urge all Abians “to renew their strengths like that of the eagle’s as they embark on the task of liberating the state and setting it on the part of good governance.
He said that he had wholeheartedly accepted the assignment given to him by the APC presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the ruling party, adding that APC is firmly rooted in the state and would win the majority votes to usher in the expected change and revive the people’s confidence in governance through a holistic development of the state.
The APC governorship flag bearer explained that he is already used to serving the ruling APC at top levels, having been the Secretary of the Contact and Strategy Committee, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee(CECPC), and the presidential campaign team of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019.
He promised not to waver in his determination to liberate the state from bad leaders and give a resounding victory to APC in the 2023 general election, charging all Abia APC members to be fully committed to the rescue mission.
He also promised to play his own part as a candidate and leader stating that “if everyone of us show enough commitment and effectively play their own part, I can assure you that victory will be for us in 2023, he said.
“The prospects of bringing real development to God’s own state would only be possible if APC succeeds in taking control of Abia government house come 2023”, he asserted, and acknowledged that the battle to rescue Abia would be tough given that those holding the state down for over two decades would not let go easily.
“Abia has degenerated to the extent that well-meaning citizens must take a stand and join the movement to rescue the state”, he decried and assured the people that he was fully prepared to turn things around to positively change the current ugly narrative of the state.
He reiterated his promise to make Abia a first world economy in a third world nation, assuring that it is achievable given the potentials of the state, which is yet to be tapped. END
