The unveiled first female deputy Governorship candidate of of All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia state, Reverend Barrister Gloria Nanya Akara has said that the emergence of High Chief Ikechi Emenike as the Governorship Candidate is apt for the rescuing, liberation, transformation and development of Abia as a state .
She added that his administration will bring credible and tangible change in several fronts, ranging from education, infrastructure, health, tourism, economy and security in all nooks and crannies of the state.
She stated this shortly after she was officially presented to the mammoth crowd that graced the party’s stakeholders meeting held on Sunday in Item, Bende local government area of the state.
Akara, a legal practitioner of over 40 years standing, a Minister of God, who presides over God’s Heritage Ministry , was earlier described as a lady of faith, true mother, honest, dedicated and well educated.
She said that since the creation of the state, no woman has ever been offered such an opportunity to serve in that capacity and thanked Emenike for his vision in including women in his government as well as expressed joy for the gesture.
“I accept this rare offer and opportunity and hereby pledge to work with him (Emenike) and to support this noble and most laudable cause wholeheartedly. May the Lord grant success to this vision and mandate”, she prayed.
According to her, that Emenike extended “his hand of fellowship to Ukwa people to produce a female deputy governorship candidate for the first time ever in Abia State is a gesture that those of us from Ukwa cannot thank him enough for”.
Earlier in his presentation speech, Emenike, said that as person from Abia Central, he narrowed down the choice for the office of the Deputy Governor to Ukwa axis of the South to give the people of the oil-producing communities a sense of belonging.
He explained that content for content, he and the female deputy governorship candidate present the best pedigree in education, integrity, focus, intention, and commitment to rescue and develop the state in all fronts.
He explained that the state will be worse off from 2023, if the people make wrong choices, and assured the people that Abia APC is capable of addressing the “rot the ruling Peoples’ Democratic party PDP has thrown the state into since 1999.
He noted that when his manifesto, which is second to none is released, the people will see how their administration will begin the drive to develop the state from the first day. END
