Bishop –elect, Ugoo Nwosu of Unique Grace Ministry, Mbara Umuwaya, Amuzukwu, Umuahia, the Abia state capital, has said that Abia as God’s own state is supposed to be governed by God’s own leaders, who will see the need to entrench the rules and regulations of the Almighty, but decried that the situation is far from being normal how much more godly.He disclosed this while interacting with Sunnews Times Crew, giving advice on the way the people can take their collective destinies in their hands to deliver themselves from a ruler-ship that inflicts pain on her citizens.
Excerpts ; Abia is known as God’s own state, but unfortunately, what the people are experiencing since creation in terms of leadership does not depict what should be expected in a state where God rules and controls the affairs of His people, what do you think is the reason?
The reason is because the leadership we are provided with in the state is far from knowing God. From inception, we have been saddled with a leadership that does not think of how to develop the state, but how to dvelop themselves, their families, in-laws, kinsmen and whatever they consider as their own. We have a government of self enthroned here , if not, why should a group of inept leaders be in leadership for eight years, and make little or no impact in the improvement of the state, but still want to continue ?. You find out that this selfish attitude puts the state in news for the wrong reasons. Abia as God’s Own State has been under siege for too long, siege laid by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP government, for more than a decade now, yet they don’t want to leave, neither would they want t better the lot of the people. It is sad.
Siege is a general language you use to talk about the situation on the ground, can you be a bit specific? Many workers are owed many years of unpaid salaries, Pensioners are reeling in pains over years of unpaid pensions, government hospitals are just glorified health centers, Public schools are in tatters, nepotism has taken the center stage of our political experience, any plum jobs are offered to a peculiar people as dictated by the government in power, many unqualified and incompetent staff are being unduly elevated above their more competent colleagues and seniors in ranks. What else can somebody say about this deplorable situation that PDP has thrown the people into.
What is your rating of the infrastructural development in the state? Many roads are near impassable, including the ones constructed recently; they are scaling off so quickly because of poor quality materials used to build them. Revenues accruing to the State as Federal Allocations and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) continue to flow into Government Treasury unhindered. The question in everybody’s lip is; what is really the problem? And the answer is not far-fetched. It is found in this trending story I am about to tell you now; During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph Stalin, who was a brutal dictator with a mind of his own? One fateful day, he came to a Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of an audience, he started to pluck off the feathers of the live chicken one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores and it gave out grievous cries, but Stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse, plucking the feathers, until the chicken was completely naked, after which, he threw it on the ground. The naked chicken was staggering in pain, and then Stalin dipped hand into his pocket and brought out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & helpless creature. The poor, helpless chicken that was in pain started eating and Stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet. Then, Joseph Stalin turned to members of his political party leadership and said, “This chicken represents the people, you must dis empower them, brutalize them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them. If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their lives, worshiping you. They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that you’re responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place”.
How do you want to buttress your story with this narration? This is exactly the situation in our dear Abia State today, and the government has the audacity to insist in perpetuating itself in power for the purpose of killing the chicken finally. They see us as chicken, and they want to finally kill us, it is left for us to agree to be killed or not. How can a government that is unable to pay workers and pensioners their pitiable salaries and pensions despite abundant resources come again to enthrone it-self into power, how can a government that lacks vision be so desperate to return to power if their mission is not to finally finish the citizens. This is the situation we find ourselves into today.
What then is the way out of this situation? The only way forward is for the good people of Abia State to rise up to protect themselves from the brutish Peoples Democratic Party, Government. Abians must rise to liberate themselves from the slave masters who have sworn to roast them for a meal. Their is no doubt that they are tired of a government whose only manifesto is to primitively accumulate wealth through looting of the people’s commonwealth.
How can this be achieved, bearing the fact in mind that they will be dangling their carrot before the already hungry Abians who want to survive? There is nothing wrong in accepting their gifts and still vote the right candidate. What they are flaunting before us is what they have stolen from us, so if they bring it back to us, we must unite, and vehemently resist their evil mechanism of entrenching themselves in the land. This is our chance and opportunity to chase the PDP government out of the Government House through the instrumentality of PVC come 2023. It is a task that must be done and a mission that must be accomplished, thank you very much. END
