A female victim to Uduak Akpan, the suspected killer, standing trial for the murder of a job seeker, Iniubong Umoren in Akwa Ibom state, sometime last year, has narrated how Akpan forced her to smoke two wraps of marijuana, after which he raped and took pictures of her nakedness.
The witness told the court that her assailant lured her to his residence with job offer and raped her after forcing her to smoke two raps of the weed, which did not weigh her down.
The Court heard that she arrived Akpan’s residence in Uruan Local Government Area around 5 p.m. and was let go around 1 a.m, after she was subjected to weed smoking, raping and emotional torture.
She disclosed this during the resumed trial of Uduak Akpan, adding that her assailant owns weed farm, where he cultivates marijuana to the knowledge of the government.
According to her, Government is aware of the farm land, and before he employs anybody, he tests the drugs on that person.
She told the court that her pleas for his assailant to let her go when she realized that she had fallen into a trap fell on deaf ears, as he insisted that she must take the drug, and that if it becomes too much for her, he would give her a tonic that would flush the substance out of her system.
She also narrated that she begged him to let her and that he said that the only condition for her to go was for her to do as he said by taking the drug, and “forced me to stand up immediately and take the drug”.
The court heard how Akpan brought out three wraps of marijuana from his pocket, lit two, gave her one and showed her how to inhale it, while he smoked one .
According to her she followed his instruction by smoking the first one, and was still normal, and he lit a second and was walking her round the compound, and was asking her if she could still recognize what was in front of her, and she said yes.
He then gave her the second wrap, yet she was not influenced, and at that juncture, Akpan told her that she needed to help him by having sex with him as he was already high on the drug and needed to release.
“I started crying and begging him to let me go, but he forced me to remove my trouser which I did and he raped me to his satisfaction, and compelled me to remain naked as he took pictures of my nakedness with his cell phone”, the female witness said.
She said that she didn’t not tell anyone about it, because Akpan threatened to kill her if he ever hear the story anywhere, and that he meant it.
It could be recalled that Akpan, on December 5, last year allegedly lured one Iniubong Umoren, a young female graduate to his residence with false employment offer, after which he raped, murdered and buried her in his fathers compound.
The case was adjourned to January 14, 2022 for further witnessing. END
