A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia state capital, has dismissed a suit brought against All Progressive Congress, APC, Abia state chapter, by the Director General of Sampson Uche Ogah’s Campaign Organization, Abia Rejoice, Hon solomon Okogbuo.The Court presided over by Hon justice E .N Anyadike dismissed the suit suit, insisting that the petitioner, Okogbuo, did not participate in the indirect primaries of the party and therefore lacks the locus standi to challenge the outcome of the primaries in Court.Okogbuo, had in Suit No FHC/UM/CS/135: (SOLOMON OKOGBUO VS APC and 3 others), petitioned, that the primaries conducted by the party on 26th day of May 2022 was illegal.But the judge in his judgement delivered today the 19th day of January, 2023, at the Federal High Court Umuahia, upheld the indirect primaries of the party held on the above date, which nominated the House of Assembly candidates of the part.Holding further, the court explained that the purported direct primaries, which Okogbuo claimed was the genuine “is illegal, having not been conducted by NEC of APC through her appointed electoral committee members led by Dr Felicia Agubata.The Judge insisted that Okoguo, having not participated in the indirect primaries of APC, lacks the locus standi to challenge the outcome, and thus dismissed the suit .Speaking on the matter, V.N. Nwankwo , Counsel to the party, who was at the Federal High Court Umuahia, said that with this judgment, regarding House of Assembly primaries,the party has come to the end of the road of the illegal direct primaries .END
