Three traditional rulers, at Nnenasa community, headquarters of Njaba local government area of Imo State have been killed by unknown Gunmen .
Sunnews Times learnt that five traditional rulers were killed, while an official report stated that they were three.
The incident occurred when traditional rulers from the area, numbering about 20 were holding a meeting at the local government headquarters in the community.
It was learnt that the gunmen invaded the venue, interrupted the meeting with sporadic gunshots and killed at least three on the spot.
Others who sustained various degrees of injury were rushed to a nearby hospital whose name could not be easily ascertained for medical aid.
Mike Abatam, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the attack, said that only three traditional rulers died during the invasion.
As at the time of filing this report, the identities of the traditional rulers who lost their lives were yet to be made known to our reporter in the area.
We however learnt that tragedy Struck unknown gunmen stormed the venue of the meeting and open fire Traditional Rulers who were holding meeting at the LGA council headquarters.
