(OPINION) By BENSON CHUKWUDI NKEMAKOLAM.
Laughable, very laughable and childish, that Donatus Nwankpa and his cohorts have resorted to blackmail, throwing punches in air, beating about the bush, and trying very hard to expose their inadequacies, by false allegations on the respectable person of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, is amusing.
Just recently, in their desperate effort to soil the character of a clean man, they went to the media to accuse Emenike of betraying Buhari, APC, Siphoning funds meant for presidential Campaigns”.
The write up was credited to one inconsequential self-glorified youth group, that calls itself “All Progressive Congress Youths for Progressive Alliance (YFPA)”.
Of course , they let the cat out of the bag by mentioning Hon Chief Donatus Nwankpa, whom everyone knows as their sponsor, whom I had earlier thought is honorable, until now, when this development has put doubt in my mind.
No young man can use a hard-on-manhood to frighten an old woman, because, no matter how you look at it, that old woman would have started the game before you, yes, she must have seen it all, rightly or wrongly.
The question in the mind of many is whether Nwankpa know the truth, politically and otherwise, and my answer is yes, he does. Does he believe in the truth he knows? This is where I am at a cross road, because he seem to be closing his eyes, blocking his mind and ears to the truth he knows. Because as the the good book says, if anyone knows the truth, the same truth he knows will sets him free. Chief Nwankpa, as far as I know has not been practicing the truth he knows, because if he has, he would not sponsor an inconsequential group to try to soil a clean man.
Nwankpa knows that he reneged on the promises he made to APC, when he was sworn in as the Chairman, he also knows that he caved in and supported PDP during the 2015 elections, and other elections because the then Governorship candidate, who emerged as the Governor is his fellow Ngwaman, yes, in his heart of hearts, Nwankpa knows, and he knows that even God knows that this is the truth. If it is so, why is Nwankpa feigning ignorance of what tragedy his leadership has made to befall the APC in the state and Abians in general?
The sufferings Abians are going through today can be hinged on the betrayal of Nwankpa and his cohorts, to the party he so much claim to love and fighting with all might to retain. Dos he not know that he has failed Abia people are they are not happy with him, how doe he think that he will sell the right f a people to their enemies and they will still love him to continue in his act. If the present Government has failed, those who sold the opportunities for Abia to be liberated in the previous elections are the ones that plunged this state into suffering. And shamelessly, they are still raising their heads, fighting to retain power, which we are sure they will still sell tomorrow for all of us to remain in perpetual suffering, why ?
What Nwankpa did, what he has done and what he is still doing as the Christian he said he is surprises Abians, especially those that have seen him from the point of the good book. Yet, in his own believe, he thinks that he is playing politics,by trampling upon the truth, why?
Nwankpa and the people he is representing have forgotten that time will come, when his actions and that of the people with him will become a matter, that will matter so much to all Abians, and all those who threw caution to the wind in carrying out assignments for Abia APC will search their minds on whether they have done rightly or wrongly.
What do they think that they are doing, any true Abian, who read the piece that emanated from the news interview, the youth group granted to the eagle publication online will not fail to laugh them to scorn, because it is a clear falsehood framed in a hurry in an effort to dent a clean man.
Does the name, “Youths for Progressive Alliance” (YFPA), make meaning in the mind of any responsible Abian, No !, Does the name of their President, Mazi Emmanuel Nwabuko and Secretary General, Dr. Nwanevo Okeugo, sound like people who are still intact in their reasoning faculty, the answer is also no !
Since the two answers to the two questions are in negative affirmative, then, why should any sane Abian bother over the ranting of two little hungry brats, that have been paid to do a hatchet job. Can their ranting do any harm to the reputation of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, who has remained a colossus and terror to the wicked, the corrupt and agents of bad governance, the answer too, is no!
The language of the self acclaimed youths, their out burst and utterances gave them away as desperate, disgruntled, frustrated group of drunken youths, (if at all they are), a hireling agents, struggling to pull down a man they don’t know and have never met from a distance .
The Igbo youths are known to have some level of respect for their elders, in this era of Mkpru Mmiri, one will not help but think that the leaders of the self acclaimed youth group must have been fed on the product of the evil substance called Mkpru Mmiri, because they lost touch with reality, and started ranting against their fathers and mothers, vomiting all manners and colors of lies to earn their pay. Their utterances gave them out as ill-mannered, ill-informed, ill-trained and badly behaved children who couldn’t have come from the Igbo race.
First, their language is full of hatred, very sour to anyone’s mouth, it is smelly to the nose and quite unhealthy to any ear that hears it. One can make good to say that their’s is an outburst of frustrated bunch of rascals, who are aware that the tide is fast sweeping them and their sponsors away, and they are doing everything possible to hold sway.
If this is the extent that the Nwankpa led group can go, in an effort to wrist power from Emenike, which they can not use to better the lot of Abians, then, indeed, mankind has lost touch with reality.
What we have heard them say over the years is that “this Emenike is too straight, you cannot bend him, he will not allow us to serve ourselves if he becomes a governor, he will never allow anyone that is corrupt to come close to his government, he is too hot tempered, and so on, and so forth, but coming to talk about “betrayed Buhari, siphoned money and held down the wheel of progress of APC, is a new dimension to wrong doing, aimed at achieving dirty goal.
The new dimension of conspiracy to lie against Emenike is foreign to many Abians and men of good conscience. It shows how desperate men can be when they want to covet what does not rightfully belong to them. Must we malign to have our way, must we assassinate the character of the innocent to achieve our hearts desire, why all these hullabaloo in politics, a game in which you see some one appear like a God today, and tomorrow, he is no where to be found.
Hear their ranting, “a suspended Chieftain and Secretary of the APC Convention Committee on Contacts, Strategy and Mobilization, Ikechi Emenike, thwarting the tremendous gains recorded in the development of the party in Abia state”.
Can any sane Abian agree with the uninformed youths that APC has recorded any gain in Abia since inception; the only gain one can agree that they have recorded under their hitherto leadership is personal gain, which they use the name of the party to achieve for themselves individually, and from PDP, where they secretly belong and reap from, but pretend to be practicing opposition.
Why are they this bitter about the emergence of Emenike, whom they know will put Abia on a better pedestrian, because they sense and are aggrieved that their misrule will soon fizzle out, since they are APC members in the day and PDP in the night.
If truly High Chief Ikechi Emenike has been suspended from the party he is leading, why are they bothered about him, who were the people that suspended him, why can’t they carry on with the activities of the party in the state?
We can recall that sometime ago, a caucus of disgruntled elements, the same APC in the day and PDP at night members, were said to have met in a private home of an insignificant member in Ikwuano LGA, after which they went to a radio station and pronounced suspension on some Chieftains of a party in the state, what an effrontery !
It was learnt that Emenike did not even respond to the announcement, how much more of losing sleep over it, as he is not used to responding to comments from every Dick, Tom and Harry, as the conveners of that meeting can be so described.
They are nobody, and do not worth a waste of Chief Emenike’s precious time and response. Today the whistle has sounded and everyone of them is running hecter–scetter, trying to justify their hatred to the one they claimed to have suspended. The argument has come to be, who suspended who? Can a new wine take the place of an old wine in a bottle? The result is that the bottle that contains the two will explode with thunderous sound, and both the bottle and its content will be wasted.
If Emenike is in suspension, why is everyone of them plotting to wrist the party from his hands, a suspended individual, who holds no stake, according to you, one whom you said surrounded himself with less popular and less prominent people, and you consider your selves the real people. Why are some people outside, and he is inside and you want those who come last to come first. Never !
Emenike has become a symbol, a symbol of integrity, those following him know what he stands for, but you don’t know, how can it work?
How come the structure of the party in the state is with Emenike, how come the party can not move ahead without his input, yet you speak about his suspension, talk on how he has formed a clog on the wheel of the progress of the party in the state, when truly you are the ones that have grounded the party in the state and refused that it should perform its functions as an opposition. This is indeed the noise, usually made by drowning men.
If really there is the existence of any “N3 billion presidential campaign funds generated by the APC leadership, meant for the last 2015 and 2019 general elections, which were utilized by Emenike to acquire houses in Abuja”, why did it take you this long to talk about it if you are APC Youths indeed”. Be thoroughly guided, a word is enough for the wise! END
