Widows all over Nigeria have been urged to procure their permanent Voters Card, PVC, to enable them vote out governments which does not care for their welfare and welfare of their children and wards. The founder of Widows Organization International, WOI, Chief Alphonsus A. Udeigbo gave this advice in a statement he made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital. He said that without the instrument of PVC, which is the only weapon available to them, they will find it difficult to determine their choices of leadership at various levels in the forthcoming election.
He explained that if all registered members of WOI nationwide can procure their PVCs before the expiration date, and come out en mass to vote candidates of their choice, they will be sure that a candidate of their choice will be enthroned.
He said that many citizens, including widows, their children and wards have been on the fence for too long, and have given the wrong leaders the opportunity to mount the throne of leaderships and continue in their evil activities against the citizens.
“In the past, many citizens have refused to come out to vote because they don’t have PVCs, and thus give opportunities to the wrong people to govern us. It is for this reason that I am urging all registered members of Widows Organization International, WOI, nationwide to try their own powers by getting their PVCs in order to move the country forward since the president has informed us that votes will count in this election”.
He said that failure to do this will amount to falling back to the same suffering we find ourselves currently.“It will mean that the same people whom we have been avoiding will still enthrone themselves and continue to persecute us as they have been doing. I know that you will not want this sufferings to continue”, Udeigbo stated. According to him, votes from widows, their children and ward will surely make appreciable impact in the polity, and eventually give them opportunity to make a choice. END
