A former Chieftain f Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, in Umuahia North state constituency (Ohuhu), Chief Chimaobi Kingsley Onuzurike, has joined the All Progressive Congress, APC, with about 1, 500 of his supporters.
Chimaobi, who is the elder brother to the Honorable member representing Umuahia North state state Constituency in Abia state House of Assembly said that he has realized that APC is a moving train, “it is really where the light is, and so any person who has not seen that should have his or her eyes re-examined.
He explained that he has no regret joining the party, because what he has done is to the best interest of his people of Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu, his followers and Abia in general.
He said that he feels that it is a very good decision because, adding, “things are not being done rightly in my former party and so, I took that decision to join a moving train which has prospects and a future that will be beneficial all Abians.
Onuzurike, who spoke to Sunnews Times a day after the ceremony which took place in his country home at Nkwoegwu said that they have been in PDP for too long without any hope, “so there is nothing wrong with me saying, let us cross over to the other side, after all our Lord Jesus Christ said the same thing when the place he was staying with his disciples became boring.
“PDP as a party has become boring to me, because when one keep doing the same thing and expect to get different results at some points, that person’s head should be re-examined for clarity. Our people have reposed so much confidence in PDP and PDP has not done them any good. So.., what?
He said that the system is such that needed everyone to come together and make amends, so that we can have a positive change in our state to form a new government that can truly better the lot of the people.
He lamented over the deplorable condition of civil servants in Abia, stating,”it is really deteriorating, those who have retired are not paid their pensions, those who are in service are not receiving salaries, contractors are not paid, teachers in schools are not paid salaries, and when you go to some schools, you can hardly get good number of teachers that teach the students.
“Public schools in Abia have been killed by the Government and that is one reason why you see people opening private schools here and there, reaping off parents in terms of fees and other financial commitments. We are of the belief that since PDP has tried all these years without making any headway, let APC take over the mantle and do government functions in this state.
He said that he was sure that the agenda of APC for the people will definitely turn things around for better in the state and called all men of good will to join the moving train.
On whether he consulted his younger brother, Kelechi, who is a Chieftain of PDP and an Honorable member representing his constituency, he said no, that such consultations are not needed since they are all adults with different mind sets.
“If he is in a different party and I am in another, it will not make us not to be brothers again, after all if it were possible for him to convince me to stay back, he would have done that even before I started thinking of leaving.
“Having come out, my mind is that if he sees the reason why I left at any point, it is his decision whether to join my followers or to stay back where he is, but definitely, it will not be an issue between us. But for now, he belongs to where he wants to belong to and I belong to where I consider right, it is our civil rights, Chief Onuzurike said. END
PDP, APC what is the deference?
APC a national disaster
PDP. State disgrace.
The only way out for Abia is APGA.
Look at Anambara state.
If you want to confirm your stupidly to the rest of of the nation, vote for PDP or APC and be doomed forever.
