The Management of Standard Organizations of Nigeria (SON) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abia State Command, have resolved to fight against the production, sales and distributions of substandard goods in the Country.
This agreement was reached when the Abia State Coordinator of SON – Mr. Alabi Oluyomi paid a Courtesy visit to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr – Muhammad Hassan Sanyinna, at the Command Headquarters, along Aba road, Umuahia.
Alabi who expressed worry over the trend during the visit, adding that it requires requires the cooperation of relevant stakeholders like NSCDC to tacklethe menace, and solicited the Command’s support in that regard.
He said that he was Worried by the preponderance of substandard products in the country and it’s attendant health and other implications.
Responding, Muhammad thanked his guest for recognizing NSCDC as a key stakeholder in the enforcement of government policies.
He decried the proliferation of substandard products in Nigerian markets describing the production and consumption of such as hazardous stating that all hands must be on deck to arrest and prosecute those behind it.
He assured him of the readiness of his Command to synergize with the organization in the fight to rid the markets off substandard products, stating that the Command remain committed to a crime free society.
The SON boss used the occasion to officially present an invitation letter to the State Commandant to attend a major sensitization programme scheduled to hold in Aba this month of August. END
