Women in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia state have said that they have taken a stand with Hon Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the Deputy Chief Whip at the House of Representatives, to carry the Rescue and Develop Message of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, the All Progressive Congress Governorship Candidate for Abia state to the grass roots.

They made the declaration at a stakeholders meeting hosted by the Deputy Chief Whip at her Ngodo Isuochi country home over the weekend.

The Women who spoke through the Leader of Amuda Isuochi women, Mrs. Iheoma Nkem Madu assured APC leaders that the womenfolk are solidly behind the the rescue and develop Abia mission of Abia APC.
“We have taken our stand with the Hon Deputy Chief Whip and all that she stands for, and are already carrying the message of Hope to the grassroots”.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Whip Deputy Chief Whip, who addressed the mammoth crowd at the meeting said that the emergence of High Chief Ikechi Emenike as the governorship candidate of (APC) has elicited excitement and hope among the people of her constituency.
She stated that the Almighty God appointed Emenike, who heard the cries of Abians to come and rescue them from the clutches of wickedness, hence rescue mission.
She also said that God is not unaware of the evil that has befallen the state since creation, and has sent a man in the name of Emenike to wipe away the tears of his people.
“God knows that a time like this will come when he will use Emenike to salvage Abia, because he sees him as a man of high integrity that is totally committed to the rescue and development of his own state (God’s Own State.)”
She said that the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is a huge disappointment to the people, hence the need to bring in someone who knows what to do to change Abia for better in 2023.
Onyejiocha declared that her constituency has taken a decision to keep faith with APC, given all the dividends of democracy that have accrued to the area since the ruling party came on board in 2019.
The Stakeholders meeting was attended by traditional rulers, Council of elders (Ndi Ichie), presidents of Town Unions, Clerics, Women and youth leaders as well as various interest groups in the local government.
Everybody in Umunneochi, irrespective of their political party has agreed that there is need for a positive change in Abia, the Deputy Chief Whip said, adding that the only persons who can drive that change is High Chief Ikechi Emenike, who has been divinely mandated to bring development to Abia.
She said that as a man of integrity, “Emenike will not embezzle Abia money, which is the most important quality that is needed in politics, but which is lacking among the enemies of Abia who have held the state down for a long time.
Responding, the APC Governorship Candidate, who acknowledged the steadfastness of Umunneochi people said that the local government has every reason to support APC given all the benefits it has enjoyed from the party.
He assured the stakeholders that the incoming APC government in Abia would be a government of equity, justice and truth, adding that every part of the state would be carried along.
The state Party Chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu told Umunneochi stakeholders that the aim of the party was to rebuild the state, which has been devastated by decades of misrule.
“We in Abia APC are unhappy with the poor state of affairs, and that is the reason we asked High Chief Ikechi Emenike to lead us to reclaim and rebuild God’s own state, ” he said.
All the stakeholders that spoke, drawn from the three clans – Umuchieze, Nuneaton and Isuochi that constitute Umunneochi agreed that the local government has no other option than to support APC, which has before now given them hope for tomorrow.
“We are voting APC because it is where we belong, the outgoing PDP government in Abia has not remembered Umunneochi in anything, the APC candidate for Umunneochi state constituency, Engr Ejike Chukwu said. END
