An observer, who want to react to the despicable opinion piece captioned “Abia APC Gasping for breath”, written by one “Alex Okwu from Umuahia”, who is advising Abians, to withdraw their support for the state branch of All Progressive Congress, APC, and her revered state leader, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, would first want to know who this character that call himself Alex Okwu is.
It draws one’s mind to the scripture in the book of First Samuel , 17, vs 26 (b), where David who was later anointed the King of Israel, met Goliath of Garth in a battle front abusing the people of God, and then he asked his brethren “who is this uncircumcised philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God”?
That question has become necessary here, because the name Alex Okwu is an un-categorized one, not known in the political or media world, and has not even been mentioned among the riffraff in lowest edge of life.
And that he raised his pen to write ill of a structure divinely handed over to a man in a rescue mission to fulfill God’s purpose for Abia is on its own sacrilegious.
That brings one to questioning the identity of the man Alex Okwu, if actually he exist.
Does he not know that Abians have already made up their minds to support, All Progressive Congress, APC, under the leadership of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, because Abia APC of today is real, and not that of “APC in the day and PDP at night”, as it was formerly known .
The politics that Abians have focused on today is that of persons with capacity, integrity and ability to deliver and save the state from total collapse.
The wave has taken a new turn turn , as the citizens have leant their lessons for more than tweny years, those who still believe that they can still bam booze the electorates with issues of party is living in a fool’s paradise, Okwu should know this.
Okwu’s opinion seem to have emanated from the point of ignorance, because having not seen, heard or perceived the latest wave of efforts being made by Abians , to save the state from her enemies, means that Okwu is naïve of the true happenings in the political circles in the state.
It baffles one that the Authority Newspaper, said to have been established to propel truth , could accept such a parochial article, which has put their credibility in question, it is still a surprise to many .
Well, one cannot blame them , because they are in the business of money making, wherever money comes from , their business is to accept it, which was the reason why they accepted to publish an opinion that was not even well punctuated or paragraphed.
Back to the question of who the author is, because his name is strange in the communication and political air space of Abia politics and Journalism.
Many are not aware if Alex Okwu is the name of a man or woman, whether he is a politician, analyst, a social critic or one who wake up to do the biddings of his masters because they must have paid him well, as the saying goes that he who pays the piper detects the tunes.
Is Okwu an Abian, does he live in Umuahia, capital of Abia state, for how long has he lived here, does he know or feel the pain Abians are feeling , if the above questions are in affirmative, then Okwu is no other person, than one of those who benefited from the rot and decay that Abia state has become over the years.
If not how else can one describe someone, who though claim to be residing in the state, but is still urging citizens, who are calling for a positive change through APC, to stop their support to the only party and leader that has shown them glimpses of hope in their state of misery.
His tone and his use of words tend to be emanating from a fellow, desperate to do anything to get paid, forgetting that Abians are wiser now, and can no longer swallow concocted lies of those that have put them in their present pitiable conditions .
Look at the issues he raised, choice of Gloria Akara as Deputy, suggesting that she should be replaced by Marc Nwagbara, Uche Ogah, as a contender to the party’s candidacy, Orji Kalu’s formation of APP to scuttle the chances of High Chief Ikechi Emenike emerging as Governor of the state , Emeka Atuma and Sam Onuigbo’s contest to the senatorial ticket of the party. Have all these issues not been overtaken by events of the past and the present ?
Has Okwu not sounded very un-knowledgeable about the issues he tried to address, has he not sounded like a novice, to use his word? And like one gruesomely compromised to rush out an opinion dictated to him by some unscrupulous elements, he did not do his homework properly before coming out with an UN-researched piece that has left him unlettered in the minds of Abia reading public.
In our many years of sojourn in Communication space, one can sense and feel when writers are real, through their coordinated arguments, with issues at hand, and when they are completely in-alienated with the issues being discussed. Whoever the name Alex Okwu fits, he is but a hatchet jobber, one who only exist in minds of his sponsors that are using him to achieve a negative goal.
In course of trying to push his unreasonable argument forward, he gave away the names of those who sent him or people he want to curry favour from, people like Marc Nwagbara, Orji Uzor Kalu, Uche Ogah, etc, and even went further to say that Nwagbara is the one whom the job of a deputy Governor fits more than Akara, chosen by the party and God Almighty.
Why does he think that the names he flaunted are final authorities in politics in Abia state, why must their names be flaunted each time we talk about Abia politics, what have they been able to achieve for Abia people since they started their political career beside self, how can a new wine be poured into an old wine skin, and people expect good result from it, Okwu want the same old story to be told in another manner, no ! he has missed it.
The un-tarnish able, glowing and the risen image of Abia State All Progressive Congress, APC, under the leadership of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, a man divinely appointed to rescue and rebuild Abia from 2023 cannot be dimmed by enemies of the state .
This time around, Abians are determined to leave Egypt for good, like the biblical Israelis, and a million parochial opinions written by the likes of Okwu cannot stop them.
For our information, Alex Okwu does not exist, it is the same fake names being used to deceive citizens in believing lies, it is the same people with the same old tricks, Abians can no longer be deceived because they are wiser now than before.
Parties are no longer the issue being discussed, but credibility, what the people want is someone who has the ability and capacity to lead them out of Egypt, into the promised land, and High Chief Emenike is that man.
No candidate of any of the contesting parties has the type of credentials Emenike has, he was never been part of the system that brought Abia down, every other candidate was and still is.
Some are still members of the same party, and can never do better in the same system that completely crippled the state.
Emenike is not a God son to anyone, but one divinely appointed to rescue the people of God.
How he is going about it is bewildering to his opponents, internally or externally, who have resorted to mudslinging, stone throwing and raising issues that does not exist.
When has the choice of a female deputy Governor become an issue in a political space?
In our younger days, when an elder beats you to submission, you simply run to a distance and start throwing stones at him, that is what is happening now, Emenike has beaten them to it, and they want to make the party’s choice of a deputy deputy Governor an issue by throwing stones that will go nowhere.
If the people mentioned are so good, how come they have not effected any positive change in the state since inception, all they keep doing is playing politics to enrich self and impoverish others. Enough of this propaganda and lies to deceive Abians, he, who the cap fits, let him wear it. period ! END
