The 51 year old wife of a traditional ruler in Rivers state , Ugo Eze Gladys Amadi, who was alleged to have killed her husband with a matchete in his bed room, after a heated argument has confessed that she committed the act in self-defense.
She thereby appealed to the people of Umuebule in Etche, and the state to pardon her for the murder of her husband, adding that she raised alarm during the argument that led to the unfortunate incident and nobody came to her rescue.
She explained that her husband, Eze Napoleon Amadi, the Agu na echemba allegedly attempted to kill her with the matchet.
She however did not sate the reason for the argument and why her husband attempted to kill her before she killed him in self-defense.
Eze Amadi was the traditional ruler of Chokocho Etche community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, before he was macheted to death by his wife Gladys.
She admitted to have murdered her husband with a matchete, but asked his subjects and the people of the land as well as government to forgive her. END
